The rattan cane, used by many exasperating Singaporean parents to mete out corporal punishment on their children is the inspiration behind the sculptures. Good Boy Good Girl shows the immobilizing grip of societal forces on children in a fast-paced environment, and have been constructed in cane to reinforce this rigidity not only of body but also of mind.
